IT Support Technician Vacancy at Sun International Sun International is currently recruiting an IT Support Technician to join its IT Operations team at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town. The successful candidate will provide desktop support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, maintain IT infrastructure, and ensure business systems operate efficiently with minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities As an IT Support Technician, your duties will include: * Respond to IT support requests via phone and in person. * Log, diagnose, and resolve user incidents and technical problems. * Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software. * Perform routine maintenance on IT equipment and data centre systems. * Troubleshoot networking, infrastructure, and client computing issues. * Escalate complex technical problems when necessary. * Support end-users with software and system-related queries. * Maintain IT documentation and standard operating procedures. * Liaise with vendors regarding repairs, parts, and maintenance. * Monitor system performance and recommend service improvements. * Maintain spare parts inventory for IT equipment. * Participate in shift handovers and incident reporting. Minimum Requirements Education * Matric / Grade 12 * 2-Year Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification * MCSE and ITIL Foundation Certification will be an added advantage Experience * Minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT support or technical support environment * Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues * Ability to solve technical problems efficiently * Must qualify for a Gaming Licence Skills and Competencies Successful candidates should demonstrate: * Strong technical troubleshooting skills * Desktop support experience * Good networking knowledge * Infrastructure and client computing knowledge * Excellent customer service and communication skills * Decision-making and problem-solving abilities * Risk management awareness * Knowledge of IPTV technologies is advantageous * Ability to work independently and within a team Working Conditions * Permanent position based in Cape Town. * Shift work, weekends, and overtime may be required depending on operational needs. * Work in a dynamic hospitality and entertainment environment supporting critical IT operations.
