Responsibilities

• 1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
• 2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
• 3. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• 4. Provide safety training to employees on topics such as proper equipment usage, emergency procedures, and hazard identification.
• 5. Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• 6. Maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety inspections.
• 7. Coordinate with management and other departments to ensure that safety measures are integrated into all aspects of operations.
• 8. Stay current on industry best practices and trends in safety management.

Requirements

• Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
