Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
* Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate.
* Valid Code 10 Driver's Licence.
* Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
* Three (3) years of bus driving experience will be an added advantage.
* Successful completion of a Driver Competency Test before appointment.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
* Transporting learners safely to and from school using designated routes.
* Following traffic laws and departmental transport procedures.
* Assisting learners during boarding and disembarking.
* Supervising learners during transportation.
* Communicating with parents, school staff and learners regarding transport matters.
* Conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
* Reporting vehicle defects and arranging maintenance when required.
* Performing vehicle safety drills and completing required reports.
* Collecting and delivering official documents, mail and packages.
* Purchasing and transporting groceries and equipment for the school.
* Transporting learners to clinics and hospitals when required.
* Planning efficient travel routes using GPS or maps.
* Maintaining vehicle logbooks, mileage and fuel records.
* Assisting with general office support, filing and loading/unloading goods.
* Providing professional customer service during deliveries and collections.
